Allan Zukerman

Allan Zukerman, Managing Director

As Managing Director of The Restaurant Marketing Department, Zukerman brings over forty years of restaurant marketing and operations management. He has developed high level marketing strategies for over 20 restaurant concepts including Burger Chef, Chi Chi's, Pizza Hut and Papa John's. He has been a  franchisee within the Papa John's system since 1997 and served on the parent's Franchise Advisory Council for some 3 years. He is currently a co-franchiser of two concepts J Gumbos Cajun Creole and Mr. Dan's Restaurants.

Zukerman is the co-founder of CZ Growth Strategies, a group that helps emerging restaurant concepts franchise and is currently involved in franchising a regional hot dog concept and has helped franchise a Cajun Creole concept.

Marisa Zukerman, VP of Brand Strategy and Account Management

Marisa has more than 20 years experience developing and implementing branding and integrated marketing communications programs that target consumer and business audiences within a variety of industries—from telecommunications and technology to food/beverage and restaurant marketing.

Marisa specializes in strategic planning and research, program development and implementation, and creative conceptual development, especially as it relates to establishing, managing and enhancing an organization’s brand. Her skills and unique insight have been honed through working relationships with top marketing communications agencies and creative boutiques in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Indianapolis, with clients that have included AT&T Wireless, Bridgestone Americas, Oracle Corporation, Hurst's Beans, Stir Crazy, and Spaghetti Warehouse.

Rich Lunseth

Rich Lunseth, Creative Director

Rich Lunseth leads the Creative Department at ZMP with one simple philosophy: always make the client look good. He knows successful marketing communications is grounded in the importance of immersing himself in his client’s business and their marketplace business through primary and secondary research. Whether working on a print ad, television commercial, brochure, menu, POP, website, social media or any other tactic, Rich strives for the unique, the bold, the stunning and the appropriate solution that will make an impact and lead to measurable results.

Before joining ZMP, Rich worked eight years in Chicago for Gams Communications where he earned his stripes creating restaurant and bar concepts for resort properties and O’hare Airport for Carson International, a food service division of Carson Pirie Scott & Co. Rich moved to Indianapolis in 1987 and landed at CRE Marcom to work on a wide variety of business to business and consumer accounts including Maple Leaf Farms and Peter’s Restaurants. In 1999, Rich went to Pearson McMahon Fletcher England where he worked on regional and national accounts such as Ball State University, Tire Barn, J.D. Byrider and hhgregg, the largest account in the agency.

Tim Varnau, Senior Graphic Artist
B.A., Visual Communications, Purdue University

With more than 30 years in the design and marketing industry, Tim Varnau has experience in all aspects of the design process. His work includes creative executions in corporate identity, marketing collateral, publications, web design, packaging, environmental and tradeshow design. His advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite provide him with excellent production skills to accompany his creative talents.

Tim holds a degree in Visual Communications from Purdue University and is long time member of the American Institute of Graphics Arts. His work has been published in PRINT Magazine, American Corporate Identity, Graphis T-Shirt Design, and New Logo: A Collection of Corporate Identities. Tim received an ARTI Award from the Arts Council of Indianapolis in 2009 for his contributions to many non-profit arts organizations in his hometown.

David Ayers

Public Relations Department
David Ayers, Director of Public Relations
B.S., Journalism, Ball State University

A respected public relations counselor and former journalist, David’s experience spans more than 28 years as a trusted advisor to the clients he represents.

As it regards the restaurant business, David possesses a strong track record for generating measurable results involving a variety of PR projects (including special events and crisis communications) for clients such as Spaghetti Warehouse, Stir Crazy Fresh Asian Grill, Flat Top Grill, Penn Station East Coast Subs, Tijuana Flats and MCL Restaurant and Bakery. His experience also includes a great deal of work with Heaven Hill Distilleries involving product introductions, tastings and other special events – both on- and off-premise (in the U.S. and abroad).

Currently, David serves as the Director of Public Relations at ZMP. He understands very well the inner workings of a newsroom and the best approach for placing stories and generating news media coverage featuring his clients. His clients have been featured on a variety of national network programs on CBS, ABC, Food Network and ESPN, as well as publications such as GQ Magazine, The New York Times Weekend Magazine and USA TODAY.

Rick Doyle

Rick Doyle, Director, Traditional, Digital and Social Media

Rick Doyle brings over 35 years of media knowledge and expertise to the agency. Rick’s background includes both traditional and interactive media at all levels of deployment in local, statewide, regional and national media.

Over his career, Rick has managed media for numerous retail accounts including Wendy’s, Stir CrazyFresh Asian Grill, the Spaghetti Warehouse, Flat Top Grill, MCL Cafeteria & Bakery and Sakana of Tokyo. He has also worked on numerous other retail accounts including Auto Nation, the largest retailer of new cars and trucks in the world, and Shell Oil, one of the largest retailers of gasoline in the United States. Throughout his career Rick has continued to expand his knowledge of media including online, mobile and social platforms. He currently manages the social media and search programs for all ZMP clients.

Previously Rick created integrated media programs for American Express, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Sprint, Johnson & Johnson and numerous other New York based clients. His resume includes stints at major global agencies including J Walter Thompson, Young & Rubicam, and Ogilvy & Mather and major national retail agencies including Campbell-Ewald and Zimmerman. He also worked at About.com and 24/7 Real Media, where he learned the digital space from the inside out.

Rick Doyle

Troy Julian Gipson, Director, Multicultural Marketing

Troy is currently Executive Director of Multicultural & Entertainment Marketing for Z Marketing Partners Advertising Agency. He specializes in Multi-Cultural Advertising, Marketing, Events and Social Media campaigns. He has worked with celebrities and athletes in Music, Film, Sports & Fashion to procure endorsements, produce events and create additional revenue streams.

Troy's advertising, marketing, and event promotions experience in the food and beverage industry consists of working with Spatz All World Restaurant, MCL Cafe , Papa John's Pizza , Mr Dan's Hamburgers, Hennessey Cognac, and Pit Bull energy drink.

Social Media and Broadcast Production
Steve Zukerman, Director
Academy Of Art University, San Francisco

Steve is a multimedia professional and social entrepreneur. He has has lived in Los Angeles since 1996, working as a director, producer, writer, cinematographer, and editor on numerous restaurant themed projects that include the hit Fox Network TV show "Hell’s Kitchen", and The Food Network’s "Restaurant Stakeout”. 

Through his company Soapbox, and in partnership with Books That Cook Publishing, Steve has produced TV spots and web content profiling numerous restauranteurs that include TAPS Fishhouse & Brewery, Squealers Barbecue, Mirabelle, Rioja, Stir Crazy Asian Grill, Spaghetti Warehouse, and MCL Restaurant and Bakery.

He is currently producing a behind-the-scenes series, as well as managing social media, design, and crowdfunding for an upcoming feature film being produced by world famous guitarist "Slash" from the band Guns N’ Roses. He is also partnering with Svedka Vodka and The Alamo Drafthouse, for a special pop-up film screening event.

Bill Church, Director of ZMP Foodservice and Retail Development

With over two decades in the food and beverage category, Bill Church has become known as not only an operations expert, but as a marketing pro as well. In his position with ZMP, he leads our retail development initiative, assisting clients with evaluating business models, brand development, and implementing effective systems to help businesses achieve their growth goals.

Bill has direct retail experience, having owned his own bar and restaurant, as well as working with established restaurants and chains in management positions. In addition, he has significant experience within the convenience store industry where Bill created programs to drive foot traffic into convenient stores that otherwise would complete the fuel purchase with payment at the pump. Bill additionally has extensive experience in the field of Franchising as he has held top level management positions as a Franchisor in addition to being a Franchisee of several quick serve concepts. He has had much exposure to the retail beverage business through family members who have held significant positions in liquor distribution and soft drink marketing and sales.

Eric Evans is a successful food industry executive with over 40 years of experience in Food Service Operations, Management, Sales and Marketing. His organizational leadership and strategic business acumen have been seen in food service, vending, industrial ingredients and manufacturing channels. Eric has established strong professional and personal relationships with industry leaders all across the country that enable him to broker collaborative agreements that add value and benefit to all parties. He brings an effective presence and is a candid thought-partner to his business partners and customers.

Eric has vast experience and a proven track record in driving sustainable organic growth in business volume, revenue and income with small, mid-size and global corporations. He is a passionate focused leader with an external bias toward action and a visionary that sees the potential in his people, his business, and the industry.
